Cowls

I love cowls. So easy, so quick. Around and around, a little variation if you want ribbed effect, increasing a couple stitches each row. But you can't go wrong, a super easy piece to make for beginners. Pick something warm, bulky, or fuzzy. Add a chick flick and a cup of tea after your kids are in bed, you've got yourself a combo for some chill out time. And a cute fashion accessory for the next day.

Hello Kitty

Such a fashion icon, for decades now. Bows, flowers, princess style to steam punk, she has done it all. This was my personal favorite to make, not for any other reason than besides the fact that I love Hello kitty.

Boys neck warmers

I love Fall and Winter. Layers, coats, hats, scarves, all of it! My 7 year old boy loves scarves and asked me to make him one this year. So making something dapper, but still youthful, was fun. I decided to go with neck warmers instead. I think I captured his personality disguised in yarn.

Sugar and spice

I had a request for a few cupcake hats this winter for sisters, I love how these turned out. I looked at several variations, and decided on my own spin. The Divine stitch gave the "frosting" part an illusion of swirled confection. Made with 100% Cotton sugar & cream yarn, and a cherry on top! So adorable.

Don't slouch...or do!

Forget a Raspberry Beret, bohemian is much more chic. My daughter wants one in every color to accessorize with! Love her sense of style.

Minion take over

When your friend refers to her mini people of her household as minions, and you are making a hat for said mini people... This is appropriate. And hilarious! It makes me melt to hear that he tells everyone "my April made it for me."

Seuss style

"these things will not bite you, they want to have fun. Then out of the box came Thing 2, and Thing 1."

Sock it to ya

I just love sock monkeys. Who doesn't? I may or may not impose my love for him into my children. And when a request for a sock monkey came up, I jumped! There are some ugly versions out there. Go ahead, google "sock monkey crochet hat" images if you don't believe me.

This one is a great tribute to a classic, if I do say so myself.

Minnie mouse

She is the quintessential girly girl, the doting companion, the jelly to Mickey's peanut butter. And a classic clothing character for several decades now. She never gets old.

Holiday cheer

It really is the most wonderful time of the year. All of the fun characters to decorate and adorn everything with. I simply don't have enough time in my life for all of the ones I would love to turn out onto a hat, so here is just a few.

Then came a beaver...

If you ever had a day, where the gloom outside settled right into your bones inside, this ridiculously cute hat would pull you right out of that funk. I promise! I never knew I would laugh while making a hat. But I totally did. Come on, you're smiling too, aren't you!?

Girly flare

A girl needs to accessorize. Which is why I made removable flower clips to switch between a headband, or a hat. And yes, I agree, the baby modeling them is adorable!

Monkey see monkey do

One of my children was invited to a birthday party where the theme was Curious George. I had been looking for an opportunity to make a little monkey hat so I was excited! Then came a request for a purple one for a baby girl. These are one of my favorites that I've made.

Gobble gobble

Part of the momentum of making all of these cute hats has come from friends who also do photography, and wanted a prop.

I've got 4 turkeys of my own who would fit right into this scene.

I've got my eye on you

For the mischievous child, what better display of character than a quirky monster? My guy wears his hat literally everywhere he goes. If I said yes, he would happily sport it into church. He went with my husband to the yarn store (dramatic pause for that, love that guy of mine.) And while there, several women complimented my toddler on his hat. He is no shrinking violet with attention, he chatted them up and sweetly said to all of them "would you like to buy one?"

I think I will hire him as my sales manager.

Little lamb

After all of the cute owls that I started whipping out, a request came for a little lamb hat. The droopy ears on a chubby baby was adorable overload!

How it all started

I saw a link that a friend posted on Facebook for an owl hat that she was making. I love owls, and I have a 7 year old boy who loves hats so I thought I would make him one. And then I posted a picture of my finished project. The next thing I know, I've got several requests and inquiries if I wanted to start a business or not. My husband was on a medical leave from work and we needed an income, so I thought "Why not this?"

And oh...the cute requests that have come pouring in. I am loving it!
